Hannah Marie Minson Irvin,

Hannah Marie Minson Irvin, 36, of Hovland, Minnesota, passed away at North Shore Hospital on November 19, 2015, surrounded by beloved family and friends.

Hannah was born in Independence, Missouri on July 12, 1979 to Gary and Joyce (Montgomery) Minson of Abilene, Kansas, their second child and first daughter.

Hannah was married to Charles Jason Irvin at the Evangelical Free Church in Grand Marais on November 18, 2006. The wedding was celebrated with a reception at Naniboujou Lodge.

Hannah attended the Pinnacle Career Institute in Lawrence, Kansas where she earned her certification in massage therapy in 2006.

With Jason, Hannah served on the Hovland Volunteer Fire Department and was a First Responder.

She was employed at Naniboujou Lodge and held the positions of head waitress, kitchen manager, prep cook and line cook. Hannah did more than serve guests, she brought life and laughter to the lodge, teasing customers and encouraging staff. She was always singing and playing pranks. It was common for her to invite coworkers and guests to her house for bonfires or movie nights.

Hannah said if someone came to Naniboujou feeling sad or out of sorts, it was her goal to make them happy by the time they left. She was constantly reaching out to others, making the small sphere she inhabited a place filled with love and joy.

Her happiest moments were spent with her family. Her children were the joy of her life; she delighted in every moment spent with them.

Hannah is survived by her husband Jason; her three children, Natalie, Gabriel and Naomi; her parents; siblings, Ben Minson of Abilene, Kansas; Mia and Scott Thompson of Durango, Colorado; Luke and LeeEllen (LaFavor) Minson of Billings, Montana; Micah Minson and Caleb Minson, both of Kansas City, Missouri; and Elisabeth, Andrew, and Jacob Minson of Abilene, Kansas; niece Charlie Thompson; and countless friends she considered family.

Hannah was also a blessing to her in-laws and much loved by them.

When struggling with her cancer diagnosis and the possible outcome, Hannah asked, “Who will tell people they are loved if I am not here to do it? So many people never hear that they are loved.”

The family asks that those who knew and loved Hannah to carry on for her, to pass on the “I love you, I care about you, you are loved” message. People need to know that they are loved.

Visitation was at the Evangelical Free Church from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 23. Celebration of life service was at Naniboujou Lodge at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Cavallin Funeral Home, 426 2nd Ave., Two Harbors, MN 55616.
