The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic staff contacted the Cook County News-Herald
with updated information for the public on the H1N1 virus.
Symptoms of H1N1 include fever, body aches, chills, fatigue, cough, headache, and sore throat.
“If you develop flu-like symptoms,” said Chief Operating Officer Sue Nordman, “call Sawtooth Mountain Clinic at 387-2330. A nurse will speak with you, determine the urgency of the situation, and arrange for you to be seen as appropriate.”
Sources of information on the H1N1 Novel (“swine”) flu recommended by the clinic are the Centers for Disease Control www.cdc.gov/ h1n1flu/) and the Minnesota Department of Health www.health.state.mn.us/divs/idepc/diseases/ flu/basics/index.html).
The Minnesota Department of Health has established an H1N1 novel influenza hotline for the general public. Minnesotans with flu symptoms can call the toll-free line at 1-866-259-4655. Professionals will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. People with limited English skills will be connected with an interpreter at no charge.
