Take a drive up the Gunflint Trail Oct. 3, when area lodges are offering a sneak peek at entries in the plein air art contest.
The viewing is designed as a “lodge-to-lodge” event, and signs will be posted all along the Trail. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Come see beautiful artwork, meet artists and enjoy our offering of ‘the taste of fall’ on the Gunflint Trail,” said Sarah Hamilton of Trail Center Lodge.
Walleye chowder, glazed ham, bread pudding, and much more will be offered by the participating lodges, which include Bearskin Lodge, Golden Eagle Lodge, Boundary Country Trekking, Hungry Jack Lodge, Trail Center Lodge, Nor’wester Lodge, Windigo Lodge, Old Northwoods Lodge, Gunflint Lodge and Cross River Lodge. There is no charge for the event, and the artwork is for sale.
“Each lodge will have its own special recipe for you to enjoy,” added Hamilton. “Come share the Gunflint Trail with us.”
