The racecourse for the Gunflint Mail run has changed from previous years and this is an update from the article that appeared in the Cook County News-Herald two weeks ago.
This year, the races will leave from Mid Trail Lodge and go out the Trail and back. The 8-dog teams will turn around at Kings Road – across from Gunflint Lodge. The 12-dog teams will turn around at Blankenburg Pit. Each race includes two runs, and teams will be back at Mid Trail in the early and mid-afternoon for a mandatory rest. That means spectators will have a number of chances to see the teams.
