Despite it being one of the wettest, coolest summers Gunflint Hills golf course superintendent Mike Kunshier has ever experienced, revenue was up slightly over 2016.
Kunshier gave his year-end report to the park board for the 2017 season of golf played at the Grand Marais community Gunflint Hills golf course.
This past summer 86 season passes were sold, which generated $29,495. Daily green fees brought in another $42,852. All told, revenue was up two percent over 2016, said Kunshier.
Kunshier proposed keeping the 2018 daily fees the same as 2017, with a slight adjustment for $695 to $699 for a couple’s season pass. After some discussion, the park board voted unanimously to keep the 2017 fees in place, with a $4 increase in the charge for couples to purchase a season pass.
