At the beginning of October 2014, Gun Flint Tavern owners Jeff and Susan Gecas and brewer Paul Gecas told the Cook County News-Herald that the brewpub would be open for business soon. That day has officially arrived. After a quiet opening with a sharing of samples to a few lucky regular customers, the brewpub is hosting its Grand Opening on Friday, December 5. Join the fun starting at 5 p.m.
Brewer Paul Gecas issued the invite, saying, “A vision of 16 years is now realized as we serve up Cook County’s first handcrafted beers to the public.”
The night’s festivities will include a variety of house brews and energetic live music by the Twin Ports band Black River Revue. “Come celebrate with us!” said Paul.
Located overlooking the shore of Lake Superior in downtown Grand Marais, the Gun Flint Tavern has featured a creative menu, quality craft beers, a great atmosphere, and live entertainment since 1998.
