There is something for all ages at the Grand Portage National Monument during Rendezvous Days. There were over 300 living history volunteers and fur trade enthusiasts from as far away as Georgia and west from Manitoba. Lacrosse matches were hosted in the yard as tinsmithing, blacksmithing, leather working, woodworking, makuk making, paddle carving and period dye demonstrations took place in camp tents. Kelly James captured some Rendezvous events in paintings.
This baby enjoyed playing with a hand stitched lacrosse ball while her father played a rigorous game of lacrosse on the lawn.
There were cartographers and surveyors and all manners of maps at Rendezvous Days. This surveyor explains the use of a theodolite to camp visitors.

All of the young people who danced in the Princess and Brave Contest did a wonderful job. They were (L-R) Liberty Porter, Hunter Childs, Christina James, Junior Brave Tristan Olson, Tiny Tot Princess Alexis Denny, Junior Princess Mika LeGarde, Senior Princess Allaura LeGarde and Senior Brave Christopher LeGarde.
The women jingle dress dancers move in rhythm with the drums, adding to the sound of powwow.
Several women were recognized as breast cancer survivors. Receiving pink shawls and best wishes this year was Jennifer Schulz and Lillian Fisher.
