Grand Marais printmaker Noah Prinsen was featured on a recent issue of the WDSE-PBS North program The PlayList. The Grand Marais artist shares his work with local arts journalist Joan Farnam and The Playlist.
According to The Playlist, Prinsen avoids “cute” in his original wood block prints, choosing instead to carve figures and landscapes. Working out of the Betsy Bowen Studio, Prinsen explains the printing process and his fascination with it.
Also on the program featuring Prinsen were Duluth filmmaker Mike Scholtz and a live performance by Germaine Gemberling and Rich Mattson of Ol’ Yeller.
The original program aired at the end of February, but clips can be seen at www.theplaylistonline.org or by subscribing to ThePlayListWDSE on YouTube.
The PlayList spotlights and promotes Minnesota’s creative community on WDSE•WRPT in Duluth, and statewide on the stations of the Minnesota Public Television Association. Funding for The Playlist is provided by the Minnesota Art & Cultural Heritage Fund.
