The Grand Marais Planning Commission will hold a meeting at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, City Hall, to contemplate three zoning requests.
The first will be to consider Dave Walter’s request for a variance to build a new home on property within the 25-foot rear yard setback. The property is on 5th Street East.
Next, the planning commission will hear Tom and Hana Crosby’s request for a conditional use permit to operate a two-bedroom long-term rental apartment on the second story of their proposed bakery located downtown between Sivertson Gallery and the Blue Water Cafe.
Finally, the planning commission will consider the request by P & R Development LLC and the Cook County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) to build a 51-unit multifamily residential apartment project on property zoned R-1 in Creechville on the approximately 12 acres sold to the HRA for one dollar by the city of Grand Marais.
P&R Development LLC is headquartered in Elk River, Minnesota.
If the planning commission votes in favor of one or all of these requests, the requests will go before the Grand Marais City Council for final approval.
