The 2012 Grand Marais Lions Club Softball Tournament enjoyed a great weekend of weather to go along with some great softball games over Fisherman’s Picnic weekend, August 3-5. Grand Marais Lion and tournament organizer Bob Spry said there were a lot of exciting games leading up to the finals.

Skeeters, a team with a number of young local players just barely missed the playoffs. Another perennial tournament winner, the EP Sox of Eden Prairie, MN did not advance to the playoffs this year. They were beat by tournament champions T Bonz of Cloquet (along with some local ball players).

Spry said, “The Lions Cclub would like to thank all the teams that participated this year, the Grand Marais Parks Dept. and the umpiring crew for helping make this year’s tournament a success!”
