July is a new fiscal year for the Grand Marais Lions and Lioness Clubs. It is the month when new officers are installed and take on leadership positions, which help guide club activities, fundraisers, and special events.

The Grand Marais Lions Club and the Lioness Club have served this community for many years and help support local non-profits and Cook County schools.

The Lioness Dinner Buffet and Silent Auction is the kickoff event of Fisherman’s Picnic. It takes place this year on Wednesday, August 4 at St. John’s Church. The Lion’s Fisherman’s Picnic is a fun-filled weekend of events for people of all ages. Visit the Grand Marais Lion’s web site for dates and times of events at www.gmlions.com or see the insert in this paper.

If you would like to be involved in supporting the Lions and Lioness community events, we would love to have you! Please call (218) 387-2832 for information.
