Grand Marais Lioness Club welcomes three new members

The Grand Marais Lioness Club is happy to welcome three new club members—Gwen Lenz, Suzy Eklin, and Chris McClure.

Gwen Lenz has lived in Grand Marais for 14 years. She and her husband moved here from the south side of Chicago. Gwen is actively involved in many local community organizations. She is a member of the Library Friends and the G.M. Garden Club. She is the secretary of the Volunteer Advisory Board of the Cook County Food Shelf and the president of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church women’s organization. Gwen volunteers her time at the First & Second Thrift Shop and enjoys gardening, scrap booking, and stamping.

Suzy Eklin has been a resident of Grand Marais for four years. She enjoys her family, hiking, bird watching, and spending time at the lakeshore. She is looking forward to becoming active in this community.

Chris McClure, a longtime resident of Grand Marais, worked as an RN across this county which included work as a private duty, hospital, school, and public health nurse, massage therapist, and personal trainer. She is now semi-retired. Currently she is certified in First Line Therapy as a Lifestyle Educator, teaching healthy nutrition, exercise, and stress management. Her activities include dance classes at the Pump House. She enjoys her grandkids, biking, hiking, camping, canoeing and cross-county skiing.

The Lioness Club welcomes new members, ideas, energy and projects. The Lioness Club offers our new members an opportunity to serve this community while gathering in fellowship once a month for lunch, business meetings and guest speaker presentations.
