Grand Marais July 4th fireworks back on track

After much deliberation, the Grand Marais Lions Club has decided that the Fourth of July fireworks must go on.

Bob Spry, who is the club’s treasurer, asked for the community’s assistance.

“As we move into summer during these troubling times, it is important that we continue to be positive about our great country. With the support of many local organizations and businesses we’re planning to have the annual July 4th fireworks again this year. If restrictions remain the same for COVID-19, it will be important that we practice social distancing and that you wear a mask if you are closer than six feet to non-family members.

“The beautiful Grand Marais harbor should give spectators plenty of space to spread out. If you would like to help support this celebration you can send a donation to:

Grand Marais State Bank, Grand Marais Lions Club Fireworks account, PO Box 100, Grand Marais, MN, 55604;

Or you can drop off a donation at the Grand Marais State Bank.”
