Everybody Needs A Rock is the title of a delightful children’s book by Byrd Baylor and it is also Harbor Friends, annual event for kids, conducted on Harbor Park beach the Saturday of the Arts Festival. This year saw a lively group of children playing with the Rock Band, listening to the reading of Everybody Needs A Rock to find out important things about collecting rocks, and gathering rocks in official rock collecting bags. Everybody got free rock coloring books, rock candy, and some great prizes at the final drawing. About 40 kids enjoyed the rocking event! It is the fourth annual event organized by Harbor Friends and based on participation there will be a fifth annual Everybody Needs A Rock in 2010.
