Government shutdown forces AEOA to suspend energy assistance

Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) suspended energy assistance and weatherization services on July 7, due to the State of Minnesota shutdown. Offices in Duluth, located at Suite B, 3112 Truck Center Drive; and in Virginia, located at 1406 Fourth Street South, have been closed. Should judicial action warrant, or should the state arrive at a budget solution, these services will resume.

“The agency is committed to do our best to maintain services during these very difficult times and yet be fiscally responsible,” said Harlan Tardy, AEOA executive director. “As a provider of cradle-to-senior citizen programming for vulnerable families and individuals, AEOA is deeply concerned for the well-being of the customers we serve.”
