Good turnout for the Grand Marais Garden Club annual flower show

The Cook County Community Center was transformed into a beautiful display of flowers, art and handmade quilts for the Garden Club’s annual flower show on Saturday, July 23rd. The displays followed the theme of “Garden Masterpieces” and the flowers brought out the colors and themes of the artwork. Guests enjoyed the homemade sweet breads, bars and cookies. There was also a plant exchange & sale.

The Grand Marais Garden club is celebrating their 88th year. The theme of their monthly meetings is “Out and About with Gardening” and members are enjoying tours of local gardens and wildflowers this summer. The club meets at the Johnson Heritage Center on the 2nd Monday of every month at 10 a.m. All gardeners are invited to attend.
