The Cook County Senior Center had some adventures in October. On Wednesday, October 3, a group of seniors were lucky to be out enjoying the last day of great fall colors before the winds came as part of the October “Mystery Trip.” We headed up the Gunflint and stopped at Berglund’s Farm for some fresh treats for home. We then traveled the back roads to Naniboujou Lodge where we enjoyed the wonderful view from the beach followed by a delicious lunch. We headed back via County Road 14 and the Trout Lake Road. We stopped along the way to enjoy the view from a couple of public landings. We finished off our excursion with a tasty stop at Dairy Queen.
We had a great time, good food, great color and scenery and a bunch of fun folks!
Another great October trip was to Grand Portage on Sunday, October 21 to enjoy the Polka Fest. We listened and danced to the famous Chmielewski Fun Time Band and enjoyed the wonderful German Polka Platter.
