Good policy concepts should be considered

Regarding the September 27 letter to the editor from Marion McKeever: Marion, I will keep it brief this time since no amount of reason is likely to change your mind, but first I have not been ignorant of these planning meetings from the beginning, but have been referring to them in my continuing work with various advocacy committees for years.

Second, repeating the “facts as you see them” does nothing to reinforce the legitimacy of your argument: you have simply advanced an opinion not shared by most of the world.

At best you are arguing the old “communists like Pete Seeger’s music, therefore Pete Seeger is a communist” argument.

I do agree that you may continue to hold your opinion, regardless of how mistaken your interpretation might actually be, and, I too resent the idea of conspiracy minded groups forcing their opinions on me.

I plan to consider all good policy concepts, regardless of who else might or might not like them, and to adopt them locally with the advice and consent of other local volunteers, when they make sense for us.
