Cook County News Herald

Golf course management should be independent

In response to the president of the LTTA’s letter to the editor in the Cook County News-Herald,
fear not! That golf course is in the very early stages of a new and far better track with a better chance of success than ever before. Keep your hands off it.

Going forward, the key to success of that golf course is to keep it truly independent, making sure that special interest groups, such as the one you specifically have been so heavily involved with this past summer, do not wrest control of the golf course or the potential $3 million in taxes that in time should be heading its way.

Your letter in the Nov. 27 issue of the News-Herald
appears very disingenuous, and very much an attempt at face saving after being so heavily involved with that special interest group and the wasting of Cook County commissioners’ time this summer. Your letter and your involvement puts the LTTA in a bad light and raises the question of who the LTTA truly represents and just how many overlapping tourism associations are needed, and subsidized, by a county with such a small population.

Thank you for your consideration, from a true friend of Superior National golf course.
