Most of us want to protect the environment, save money and live better in the process. But how does one accomplish this? And how hard is it to join the green movement without, well, becoming as green as Kermit the frog?
It’s as simple as attending the Go Green Expo in Thunder Bay. Over the course of three days a ton of information and health tips will be offered to the public for free.
The expo will be held Friday, Sept 10 to Sunday, Sept. 12. There will be a $10 charge for workshops and space is limited, so early registration will be necessary.
But Go Green is not just about workshops. Gillian Deacon, an award-winning broadcaster and best-selling environmental author, will share her amazing knowledge of how each of us can reduce our environmental footprint, improve our health and save money. She will speak on Friday night.
Saturday and Sunday there will be workshops, tours and more than 40 exhibits, displays and a guest speaker.
Some of the topics covered include socially responsible investing, alternative energy, preserving food, building and operating an energy-efficient winter greenhouse, bicycle safety, reducing your “wasteline,” living chemical free, shoreline restoration, and building rain gardens.
There will also be a segment focusing on how to make your home energy efficient while saving money (and the planet) in the process. Charles Campbell, who has been trained by the Al Gore Climate Change Project, will present this workshop.
To register on-line for the workshops visit www.earthwisethunderbay.co and click on the “Go Green” link, or call 1-807-625-2411 and have a package sent to you.
