The Community Foundation is collecting applications for the Charlotte Ulland Scholarship for Girls, an award that was recently established to celebrate the 100th birthday of Charlotte Ulland. Charlotte was born in Beaver Bay in 1909 and still owns and regularly visits her birth home.
The award is only open to female students of Two Harbors, William Kelley and Cook County high schools with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must write an essay on the theme: “Like Charlotte Ulland, I too have been shaped by my years growing up on the shore of Lake Superior.”
Applications are available online at www.dsacommunityfoundation.com/ cms/files/2010DSACFApplication.pdf and are due Jan. 15.
