Girls perform well at Two Harbors track meet

Anna Hay won the 800-meter run at the Two Harbors Track meet held May 7. Anna ran 2:49.3 while Kylie Viren crossed the line in 3:27.3 to finish in sixth.

Besides Cook County and the host team Two Harbors, teams came from Barnum, Silver Bay, Wrenshall, and McGregor.

Olya Wright placed third in the 1600 meters, finishing with a time of 6:13.4. Malin Anderson wasn’t far behind Olya, stopping the clock at 6:20 to place fifth.

Molly LaVigne took fourth in the 100 meters in 14.5 seconds.

CeCe Chmelik finished in third place in the 3200 meter (Two mile) run, running a time of 16:24.9.

Hailey Smith placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 24 feet 6.5 inches.

Amanda Oberg placed sixth in the 200-meter run with a time of 32.9 seconds.

Zoey Kariurus finished sixth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 1:33.5.

Relays

The Vikings won the 4×800 meter relay with a time of 11:38.1. In the 4×200 meter relay the Vikings took second, running 2:21.7, and a third place was awarded to the team in the 4×100 meter relay for the 1:06:.1. effort.

The Vikings also took second in the 4×400 meter relay, running to a 5:55.3 finish time.
