The first time the Vikings played the Two Harbors’ Agates the final score was somewhat close. Not this time around.
The Vikings traveled to Two Harbors on February 7 to resume their North Shore rivalry. However, both of the Vikings’ co-captains Katie Peck and MaKenzie Fairbanks were injured in the first half, and that was pretty much it for the Vikings on this night. With their top two scorers, leading rebounder and play maker gone, it would turn out to be a long night for the Vikings who lost 57-19.
Molly Quello led the Vikings in scoring with six points. Wei-Lani Likiaksa had four, Katie Peck three, Amelia Brune two, Zoe Kacures two and MaKenzie Fairbanks had two points.
Viking Head Coach Kelly Hawsen lamented, “Both Kenzie and Katie went out with injuries in the first half and it’s tough to recover without your two captains, main scorers and point guard.”
The Vikings next home game is February 20 against Wrenshall. The following night they play here against Denfeld. The game against Wrenshall starts at 4:45 p.m. and the. game against Denfeld starts at 4:30 p.m. Come out to cheer for your Vikings!
