Girls face Denfeld at home for rematch

The girls get a rematch against the Denfeld Hunters at home on Thursday, Feb. 14, with the teams taking the floor at 6:30 p.m.

Last time out, the Vikings lost by one measly point to the mighty Hunters. But as coach Kelly Hawsen noted, “We were missing our defensive player and captain Alyssa Spry when we played them last. There is also a former Viking player, Zoe, who plays with Denfeld so it will be great to see her again,” noted Hawsen.

At halftime fans will be treated to watching the future players of tomorrow take the floor for a scrimmage.

“We will have youth girls basketball (k-3) scrimmaging during varsity halftime,” Hawsen said. “We’d love to have a group (lots of fans) support our varsity and also our youth program.

“I know some of the youth girls have asked with eyes wide, ‘You mean we will have people in the stands watching us?’ They are excited to play with a fan base watching.”

The K-3 players will also sit behind the bench for the game and cheer for the starters.

Not to be missed, the junior varsity girls will take the floor at 4:45 p.m. with the varsity playing at 6:30 p.m. Come out and cheer for your big Vikings, and your future (little) Vikings!
