In September, to celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting and to earn their Silver Award, Troop 4113 of Grand Marais put on a two-day, overnight camp. The camp was held at Gooseberry Falls State Park. Past and present girls, leaders and mothers were all invited.

The troop also invited girls from Cook County and Minong, Wisconsin, Duluth, and Two Harbors. There were 60 girls there and the Cook County Scouts had many activities for them.

Some of the activities were beading, geo caching, nature walks, plus much more.

Troop 4113 has eight girls. They are Hannah and Sarah Toftey, Julia Larsen, Emily Jacobsen, Brooke Sherer, Alicia Smith, Molly Thomas and Molly Sietsema. Troop 4113 leaders are Sandy Stover and Helen Carter.

Each girl was responsible for certain categories, which included health, publicity, food, grounds, and registration. They all worked very hard and had a great time doing it. Every one pitched in to help make it run smoothly.

It was very successful and we are happy to say we have completed our Silver Project, said Troop 4113.
