This is a short note of sincere thanks to Dr Milan Schmid, Stephen Green, and Biz Clark for writing truthful, knowledgeable letters (April 24 News- Herald) responding to the Do You Know? column of April 17. Like Biz Clark, “Typically, I do not read Gamble’s column”, so I also extend my thanks to Biz Clark’s concerned friend who alerted him to this “screed belying the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccinations.”
As a trustee beginning my first year on North Shore Health’s (NSH) hospital board, I have become fully aware of the valiant, successful, and cooperative efforts of administration and staff of NSH, Sawtooth Clinic, and Public Health to vaccinate Cook County, making us the percentage leader in the state and, according to Dr Schmid, also in the continental U.S. However, the job is not finished! Using the good doctor’s words, “I urge you to listen to those with appropriate credentials for your medical advice.” And, if you haven’t yet been vaccinated, as the Brits say, Get your jab!
