As gardeners start their plants indoors and wish for warmer weather, they may want to tune in to Northern Gardening on WTIP radio. The program covers topics pertaining to gardening in our northern climate, ranging from container gardening and composting to using earthworms and fighting off insects in the garden.
Volunteers Joan Farnam, Diane Booth and Paula Sundet-Wolf share hosting duties for the program that reaches out to experts in the gardening field, as well as local gardeners and members of the Northwoods Food Project, all with a strong history of growing vegetables in the Northland.
The program airs on the second Thursday of each month from 7-8 p.m. and is rebroadcast the following Saturday at 6 a.m.
