I think that the News- Herald has some responsibility, before publishing something, to “fact check” the obvious “false news” in the opinion written by Maty Jo Flack in the As I See it section of the December 18th paper titled “It’s time to ask some questions.” Her comments do not contain one bit of substantiating example to show where she obtained her facts.
The COVID-19 pandemic is real, and our hospitals ICU beds are filled to capacity mostly now with unvaccinated people that have ignored the pleas of experts, that she disparages, to get vaccinated. In many hospitals, staff are being forced to make decisions as to who gets care when an ICU bed becomes available—a vaccinated person with a life threatening, for example, heart attack of another unvaccinated person suffering with the Covid virus. My vote would be to say, sorry, and send people like Mary Jo Flack home to see if any of the treatments she is touting work. Give the bed to the person that “got the jab” is truly needs the ICU bed that deserves it.
