Cook County Girl Scouts, members of the Girl Scouts Minnesota – Wisconsin Lakes & Pines Council, will begin meeting again this fall. A kickoff event will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Grand Marais on Thursday, September 12.

Girls at Sawtooth Elementary and Great Expectations School will be met at classrooms by troop leaders and can walk to the kick-off with friends. Other interested girls can meet their fellow Scouts at the Free Church.

The first meeting includes all Cook County Scouts and is a chance just to meet one another and get reacquainted—or to learn a little bit about scouting. Girls of all ages are welcome—come out and find out if you are a Daisy, a Brownie, a Junior or a Cadet Scout.

There will be treats, songs, a simple activity and the opportunity to become a Girl Scout!

Leaders are still needed for Cook County troops. There is no kindergarten Daisy group this year because of lack of a leader—if you are interested and would like to learn more about becoming a leader or just want information on how your girl can become a Scout, contact Arvis Thompson at (218) 370-1105.
