Get muddy at the Tofte Trek July 4th race

If you haven’t begun training, it’s never too late to get in a few jogs and then enter the 39th annual July 4 Sugar Bush Trail Association’s Tofte Trek.

Walking the distance is totally acceptable.

The legendary 10K race is conducted over hill and dale terrain on hiking, biking, snowmobile, and cross country ski trails. It is often muddy, so wear your oldest running shoes. But no matter how muddy, the race course always seems to have just the right amount of muddy mud on the course.

This glorious event attracts contestants from near and far who want to test themselves over rigorous terrain.

The race will be start at 9 a.m. at the Birch Grove Community Center.

Race day registration starts at 7:30 a.m. There will be short distance races for kids that are free. Those races will be followed by a youth one-mile. All kids will get a ribbon.

The first 200 entrants in the 10K will receive a T-shirt.

After the race breakfast pizza from the wood-fired grill will be available from Good Hearth Breads. For more information or to register for the Tofte Trek, go to: www.sugarbushtrail.org
