George Kenneth Johnson, 86, of Grand Marais, Minnesota, died peacefully on September 9, 2022.
George grew up in Hovland, Minnesota where he attended grade school until grade 6 and graduated high school in Grand Marais, Minnesota.
George loved trapping, fishing, hunting, carving diamond willow walking sticks and spending time with his family. He worked construction most of his life and one of his many great projects was building stairways and handicap accessible walkways at the parks from Gooseberry to High Fall up the North Shore.
George loved his family most of all and is preceded in death by his parents
Charles and Mabel Johnson, sister Charlene, son Cory, granddaughter Sheena and his previous wives Annabelle and Bonnieta. George is survived by his wife Gloria, brother LeRoy Johnson, sister Bobbi Lord (John), his children Darrell Johnson, Randi Kimball (Kevin), Sheryl Toland (Ron), Jeannie Johnson (Cory), Michael Johnson (Debbie), stepchildren Charles Nylund, Laurie Schiller, Julie Hannahs and many grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews and good friend Doug Seim.
Per George’s request there will be no service.
