I wonder what the Greatest Generation would think, probably roll their eyes at the howls of discomfort from someone being asked to wear a mask, or from not being able to order beer at their favorite bar, remembering when they couldn’t see loved ones for months being stuck in faraway places that had no bars left standing.
They might be sympathetic, but for certain not patient with complaints of loss of personal freedoms as they were whisked away in buses or trains clinging to one last kiss through a window before being packed off to countries many couldn’t find on a map.
It’s all unfortunate, whether Pandemic or one’s number being drawn from a fishbowl.
But one is being told what to do for their own good, whether they believe it or not, while others went willingly for the good of others.
