Cheerful news here; the Gala for the Grove will be a live event for the first time in two years.
This year the Gala for the Grove will be held Saturday, May 14, at the Lakeside Ballroom at Surfside on Lake Superior. There will be a masquerade theme, so guests coming to this semi-formal event are called upon to add a mask to their attire. However, if you are somewhat tired of wearing a mask, come anyway with smiles and good wishes.
And an appetite!
The party starts at 5:00 p.m. with champagne. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. and selections include one of three choices, fillet mignon with bleu cheese sauce, chicken stuffed with prosciutto, spinach & smoked gouda, or sweet & sour jasmine rice with snap peas (vegan), and wine. A live auction follows at 7:30 p.m., with music and dancing capping off your evening.
Proceeds from the Gala support a wide range of school activities at Birch Grove Community School: The K-5 elementary program; hot lunch; community service; summer programs; and the Sapling program.
