The Cook County Curling Club wrapped up its season on Wednesday, March 28 with a very exciting game between the Steve Hudler rink and the Brian Smith rink.
The Hudler rink tied the score in the 7th end, but was not able to steal for the win. The Smith rink was able to take the win with the hammer. So, the Smith rink is now the Open League Play Down Champions for the 2011-2012 season.
During the contest, pizza and snacks were served to club members in attendance, as well as guests that came to watch the action. Some visitors had never seen curling and were intrigued by it. Club members not on the ice were happy to explain the action.
There will be a curling get together at American Legion Post 413 on May 2. The Cook County Curling Club board would like to thank all of its club members for contributing to a successful curling season. Planning is under way for next season already.
