The Cook County Curling Club held its Fourth Annual Open Halloween Bonspiel this past weekend with eight teams competing in a round robin format. The club is always happy to see its returning guests from the St. Paul Curling Club and Duluth Curling Club. Everyone enjoyed the camaraderie and social interaction, plus some good curling, too.

In addition our guests also enjoy the festivities that our local businesses host to celebrate Halloween.

The Pam Faye rink won the “A” Event and Bob Spry’s rink was runner up. The winners of the “B” Event were the Rory Smith rink and Julie Smith’s rink was the runner up.

The Cook County Curling Club is currently offering a beginners class on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. If you are a member of the Cook County YMCA you can use the Kids Club for childcare, plus curling counts as an activity towards your insurance.

If you are interested in learning to curl or are wanting to join the Cook County Curling Club, please contact Joanne Smith at (218) 387-2052 or check out the curling club website at www.cookcountycurlingclub.com.
