From the Hack

at the Cook County Curling Club

Cook County Curling Club members have been busy these last two weeks with putting the “ice” in the arena area of the community center. The ice will be ready for club members and guests to curl on for the Fall Open House evenings.

Join the club on the evenings of October 23 and October 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a great opportunity to come see what curling is all about and to give it a try.

Curling helps you stay active during the winter months and it makes the winter go faster. Come on out and give it a try!

If you want to do more than watch the action, please have clean shoes and clothes that you can move in (layers are a good idea).

The Curling Club will also be hosting its second Halloween Open Bonspiel with the American Legion Post 413 on October 26, 27 – 28 at the community center. Last year several teams dressed up in costumes on Friday night and the same will happen this year. It’s worth a stop just to see the costumed curlers!

Schedule league play will begin October 29 and teams are being set up for those leagues. If you would like to get on a team please contact Joanne Smith 387-2052, Bill Parish 387-2382 or visit the club’s website at Cookcountycurlingclub.com

The public is welcomed to come watch all of these events.
