The 2011-2012 curling season started on October 24 with a strong response to the open leagues on Monday and Tuesday evenings. On those evenings six teams are on the ice playing against each other at 6:30 p.m.
Here are the standings of those games so far. There are some teams who have make up games. Many close games have been played, coming down to the last rock as the scoring point. That is what spectators witnessed in the exciting game between Steve Hudler and Brian Smith on the evening of November 15.
Jim King and Bill Parish have been playing with 9 – 10 curlers who have been enjoying pick-up games on Wednesdays at 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. They have been having a great time socializing while getting some great time playing on the ice. Anyone is invited to come join in during this time.
Joanne Smith and Andrew Smith each have middle school students on their teams. Brian Olsen has his senior high daughters playing on his team, for the second year. In addition, the club has many past members who are now curling again.
The Curling Club welcomes the public to come and watch the games. We’d love to see you there!
