Multilingual vocalist/ songwriter Eleanor Dubinsky and Argentine guitarist/composer Dario Acosta Teich bring audiences together with fresh interpretations of jazz, Latin, popular, and original songs. Their interactive presentation From Buenos Aires to the Andes: A Musical Journey Through Argentina takes audience members on a dynamic ride through traditional tango and the folk genres of chacarera and huayno (Argentine folk music that evolved from a mix of Indigenous and European sounds). This free, all-ages outreach event includes an abbreviated concert of Argentine music, an introduction/demonstration of traditional Argentine musical genres and instruments, and interactive songwriting. Attendees will leave with a brand-new song, composed as a group, in collaboration with the artists. Come ready to make music at the Grand Marais Art Colony, Founders Hall (120 W. 3rd Ave.) July 23 from 1-2 p.m. Masks will be required.
