Congratulations to the graduating class of 2009 from the class of 1949. We are celebrating our 60th year class reunion this summer on Aug. 1.
When we graduated in 1949 the school was called Grand Marais High School. Our class motto was “There is one proof of our ability — Action.” Our class colors were silver and blue, our flower was a white rose.
We graduated on Friday, June 3. We were a class of 26 young women and men. Most of the young men spent time in the Armed Forces. Some of the young women attended college, others married and held jobs. A number of the graduates have made their homes in Cook County, others have returned to reside here after retirement, and many return to visit friends and relations.
