“Friends of Brad” Memorial Foundation announces musician’s fellowship

The Friends of Brad Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce a fellowship opportunity for young musicians in the Arrowhead region (St. Louis, Carlton, Lake or Cook counties) of Minnesota. The foundation has created the Bridge Fellowship program in order to assist young musicians in the transition period between formal training and the onset of a professional music career.

The foundation is offering a single fellowship of $1,000 in 2011 to young professional musicians residing in northeastern Minnesota. The purpose of the fellowship is to help subsidize professional expenses, ideally those related to a musical project with local impact. The fellowship will thus aid in the professional development of a local musician, serving as a bridge between formal training and the onset of a professional music career, while also enriching the local musical community.

More information, and an application, is available on the Friends of Brad website: friendsofbrad.org/initiatives/ bridge-fellowship or by e-mailing fellowship@friendsofbrad.org.

The deadline for applications is Aug 31.
