Charlie Appelstein has been described as “the best youth care trainer in America” by Robert Lieberman, former president of the American Association of Children’s Residential Centers. He has devoted his entire adult career to helping children and youth struggling with emotional and behavioral challenges and those who guide them.
An engaging, informative, and humorous speaker,
Appelstein is the author of three critically acclaimed books on youth care and the creator of two innovative CDs helps kids and parents make better choices and lead happier lives. Charlie’s strength-based approach delivers a message of hope and possibility to our most vulnerable youth and those who shape and influence their lives.
Appelstein will be providing three free trainings to teachers, parents, youth workers, grandparents – anyone wishing to understand and learn more about reacting to and dealing with youth may attend any of the three workshops. The trainings will take place on Wednesday, April 13 at Cook County I.S.D. 166 throughout the day.
These sessions are being provided to the community through support from Cook County Extension and the Cook County P.T.A. For more information or a complete schedule, call (218) 387-3015.
