Cook County Higher Education, in cooperation with the Northeast Minnesota Office of Job Training, is offering a free “Job Seeking Skills” workshop on Thursday, April 14.
This interactive workshop about the job seeking process will cover job search training, resume development and preparing for the interview. Participants will learn how to identify employment opportunities, write job-winning resumes, create cover letters that result in interviews, and develop effective interviewing techniques that will result in more job offers.
The instructor is Randy Back, professional employment and training career counselor with the Northeast Minnesota Office of Job Training. Over the past 15 years, Back has been assisting dislocated workers, youth and underemployed individuals in Cook, Lake and St. Louis counties with a variety of workforce development issues. Back has a master’s degree in counseling and is a National Board Certified Counselor.
The workshop will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the North Shore Campus in Grand Marais. In order that we may have enough handouts, register by e-mailing highered@boreal.org or by calling 387-3411 no later than Tuesday, April 12.
