A free energy efficiency workshop for Cook County homeowners will be held Tuesday, April, 12, 7-8:30 p.m., at the North House Folk School blue building. This workshop will be presented by Dean Talbott, program manager of the Duluth Energy Efficiency Program (DEEP), which helps homeowners save money, conserve energy, and lessen their impact on the environment.
The Cook County Local Energy Project in partnership with the Cook County/Grand Marais EDA and the Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) are sponsoring this workshop.
During the workshop, Talbott will recommend home improvement options to consider first and how to use your home energy-efficiency dollars for the greatest impact and highest return on investment. The workshop will offer sensible steps for whole-house energy efficiency, including air sealing, insulation, heating, appliances, lighting, safety, and more.
Many of us know the estimated mile per gallon rating for our vehicle but have little understanding of the energy performance of our home. DEEP can provide a free home energy score. DEEP will also work with homeowners to access incentives, loans, and grants to reduce energy improvements costs.
