Francis “Frank” Flocken, 84, of Riverside, CA died on February 13, 2014. He was born on June 3, 1928 in Minneapolis to Edward and Helen Flocken.
He married Jacqueline Hansen of Minneapolis in 1947. While in Minnesota, Frank served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a painter with his father.
Frank and Jackie later moved to Riverside, CA with their two children, where he began employment as an independent furniture sales representative. During his time in furniture sales, Frank sold products across Southern California for several companies including Bedline, Easy Rest, and La-Z-Boy.
After retirement in 1990, Frank and Jackie returned to their beloved Minnesota, settling in the picturesque North Shore town of Grand Marais.
During retirement, Frank collected and carved diamond willow. He sold his interesting crafts (lamps, walking sticks, pencil holders, and hat racks) in local shops. Frank and Jackie thoroughly enjoyed the clean air and good friends of Grand Marais for 20 years.
Frank returned to Riverside in 2010 to be near his grandchildren.
He is survived by three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three brothers: Amby of Chatsworth, CA; Vinnie of Cass Lake, MN; and Leo of Crowley, TX.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline; his daughter Bonnie; and his son, John. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to American Heart Association (heart.org) or Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (curealzfund.org).
