Three Cook County High School seniors and one sophomore made 2020 honorable mention All-Conference for their exploits on the football field this fall.
Area coaches voted for the selections.
Vikings named Honorable Mention All-Conference were Aram Falter, Vaughn Swindlehurst, Patrick Pierre, and Ryan Christiansen, a sophomore.
As quarterback/runningback for the Vikings, Aram Falter had 130 rushing attempts and gained 467 yards for 3.6 yards per carry to lead the team in rushing. Aram completed five of 15 passes for 77 yards and one touchdown. He also caught one pass for a 37-yard gain. As a kick returner, he made 10 returns for 205 yards, a 20.5-yard average. On defense Aram had 36 tackles.
Vaughn Swindlehurst, a lineman and tight end, ended with 52 tackles on defense. He had one quarterback sack and forced one fumble. On offense, he caught one ball for 16 yards.
Ryan Christiansen had 48 tackles, two interceptions and six TBL. As a wide receiver Ryan caught five balls for 127 yards and one touchdown.
Patrick Pierre played on the offensive and defensive lines. Patrick had 18 tackles and a fumble recovery. The team often ran behind Patrick’s blocking on offense, as he was good at clearing a path for his running backs.
The Vikings played seven games in this pandemic plagued season and had one win, a 20-6 victory over North East Range.
Silver Bay Mariner Senior Ero Wallin was named the Lineman of the Year. Seniors Luc Stadler, Derek Thompson, Hunter Dow earned All Conference honors and Zach Fredrickson, a senior, was named Honorable Mention.
Conor Bushbaum, South Ridge, was named Back of the Year and Deekon Anvid, South Ridge, earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
