David McDonald, executive director of the World Press Institute, introduced eight foreign journalists to a crowd of local residents who came to the Arrowhead Center for Arts to hear stories and ask questions about the way the news was reported in each of the countries. The journalists came from Argentina, Finland, India, Hong Kong (China), Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Iran, and Nigeria.
Cook County was the first stop in a two-month journey across America where these journalists will learn a little bit about our culture, politics, and heritage so they can more accurately report on our country when they go back home. The host families, moderator, and journalists posed together at the end of the night. Look for the full story next week.
