Ryan Christiansen ran for five touchdowns to lead the Vikings to a 38-8 win over McGregor last Friday.
Christiansen, the conference track champ in the 100 and 200 meters, showed his speed, running around and by would-be tacklers. He ran for 209 yards averaging 23.22 yards per carry. Christiansen spent the summer weight training, adding muscle to his frame, which makes him that much harder to take down– if you can catch him.
Jordan Backstrom carried the ball five times for 13 yards. Amos Falter had two carries for nine yards and Hunter Rex three carries for 19 yards to lead the Vikings to 250 total yards on the ground.
Although he was intercepted twice by Kaiden Kellerman, Sophomore quarterback Hunter Rex had a good day in his debut at starting quarterback.
The Vikings scored 8 points in the first quarter, 8 in the second, and then 22 points in the third to put the game away, leading 38-0 at that time. McGregor scored a long touchdown run on the heels of Ethan Bohn, who scampered for 55 yards in the fourth quarter to put his team on the scoreboard.
Kole Anderson had a great day at fullback and linebacker. Anderson led the team in tackles with 11. Ben Rex had ten tackles, Ryan Smith six, Ryan Christiansen six, Calvin Battees five, Rohan Rude four, Recko Helmerson four, Reuben Youngdahl, three; Jordan Backstrom three; Amos Falter three, and Hunter Rex, Rayce Gibson, Kaleb Berka, Arlo Christensen, Ethan Tate and Oscar Mielke each had one tackle.
Ethan Bohn had a good night for McGregor, rushing for 123 yards, almost half of that coming on a 55-yard touchdown run.
Amos Falter had one kickoff return for 17 yards, and Race Gibson punted once for 39 yards.
