Find out by attending one of the Preserving Food Safely: Exploring the Options workshops on Tuesday, April 19 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Grand Portage Community Center or Wednesday, April 20 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Cook County Community Center in Grand Marais.
University of Minnesota food safety extension educator Suzanne Driessen will present a 2011 update on safe home food preservation methods and research-based resources. Participants will learn the safest and most current ways to preserve foods by canning, freezing and pickling.
The workshop cost is $10 per person and includes a home food preservation book. Pre-registration is requested by Friday, April 15.
