Tiffany Elton, Pharm. D. NCPS, was one of three Fond du Lac Human Services Division employees receiving an Indian Health Service National Director Award this summer. Elton and her colleagues received their award at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
Elton has served as the Fond du Lac pharmacy coordinator for 11½ years. As coordinator, she is responsible for running three pharmacies in three locations, overseeing medication purchasing, adding to the formulary, and growing the patient base. Under her tenure, more patients were seen in diabetes care, smoking cessation, medication therapy management, asthma education, cardiovascular clinics and more. She was also responsible for an increased number of students involved in the pharmacy program.
“Finding an exceptional level of professional competence, planning ability, management know-how in one individual is rare indeed. While recognition is something she has never sought, it is something that she richly deserves,” said Marilyn Grover, associate director of Fond du Lac Human Services, in the Fond du Lac newsletter.
The other recipients honored in Washington D.C. were Susan Miller, D.D.S., Fond du Lac dental coordinator, and Mary Jo Kosza, diabetes program coordinator.
Tiffany Elton is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Johnson of Superior, Wisconsin and granddaughter of the late Hannah and Ted Johnson of Grand Marais. She worked as a pharmacy intern at Arrowhead Pharmacy in Grand Marais.
