TheFlute Reed Partnership (FRP) held its annual meeting on Thursday, July 29 at the Hovland Town Hall and elected—and appointed—new board members so the partnership now has a full board.
At the meeting, Richard Olson was elected to a two-year term. Rick Schubert and Virginia Hahn were elected to threeyear terms. All three were elected unanimously by the 14 member votes received.
Board member Dick Betz had submitted his resignation earlier in the week, so the newly elected board was tasked with filling two open positions. County Commissioner Jan Hall, at the meeting in her role as commissioner and a Hovland resident, stressed the importance of having a strong board. She agreed to join as the county liaison.
Theboard appointed Dusty Nelms and Steve Dykstra to fill the two vacancies. “So now we have our new five-member board set and we’re ready to go to work,” said FRP Coordinator Rick Schubert.
In addition to the election, the meeting featured a review of last year’s accomplishments, an overview of the Great Lakes Restoration Inititative grant, and potential projects.
